Grout Cleaning

I have been super busy lately cleaning Grout. This is such a long tedious project that I have concluded I hate doing! Oh well though it was to the point it must be done and through the process I found a few tips I will share that I may use on the rest of the tiled floors in the house.

I started with our entry way. It's the first area people see when they walk in and I want it to look nice.

It was pretty nasty looking even though I have been mopping on a regular basis. It had the good old Oklahoma red dirt in it. So I went with what I had on hand. Clorox Bleach Spray, a toothbrush, and a rag.

I went to scrubbing and when I say scrubbing I was on hands and knees for at least two hours trying to get it spotless.

It was pretty gross. I didn't realize how bad it was until I really started scrubbing.
Once I was done it was much  better but I could still see that red dirt that had stained the grout.

So I went to searching online and found Grout Paint! That will be my next step as soon as it is here! I ordered it in Charcoal which is a black as it comes and hope that it does the job on  making the floor look its best!

I will update again once I have tried the grout paint!

Some other grout cleaning tips to clean that were recommended on my Facebook Page were to use:

Woolite Heavy Traffic Foam- spray, let sit, then wipe away.
Bleach Pen- on grount lines then wipe.
Steam Cleaner- self explanatory.
Alka Seltzer in Water- put several tabs in spray bottle full of water and then spray and wipe away.

Thanks to those on Facebook who responded to my grout cleaning question!
